      Account Manager Process Solutions, Chemicals & Cell Culture Media - Germany & Austria

      Your role:

      In this role you will manage a territory ensuring budgets are achieved with the highest possible return, achieving your sales targets that contribute to overall corporate sales and strategic objectives. You will deal with products, applications and pricing questions in a manner which will increase the company's market presence, emphasize differentiation from Merck's competitors and build upon the company's reputation for excellence. You will ensure that the quarterly budget for the territory is achieved, by gaining market share (e.g. competitive conversions, customer expansions, etc.), maintaining market share (e.g. process optimization, timely reaction to customer enquiries, etc.) and seeding of Merck Millipore products in the customer´s pipeline. You will develop good understanding of customers in your territory and coordinate activities with a global team. You will build favorable relationships with customers in the territory by developing an extensive network of contacts within accounts, including all relevant influencers and decision makers around projects.

      Who you are:

      • you own a degree in Science (preferably in Biology or Biochemistry)
      • Proven technical (sales) experience acquired within a pharmaceutical environment is a pro
      • Previous experience in a drug manufacturing / biotech company would also be an advantage
      • Customer focused, strong communicator
      • Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiate and with limited supervision.
      • Proactive and decisive personality
      • Team player
      • Desire to develop as an employee
      • Flexible, willing to travel within territory; spend 60% of the time in customer visits
      • Fluent in German and English
