      We want to advertise a post for a

      Scientist (m/f)

      for our Clinical Serology Department.

      Valneva Austria GmbH, a subsidiary of Valneva SE, focuses on pre-clinical and clinical vaccine development and QC testing. The company is located at the Campus Vienna Biocenter, a melting pot of biotechnology and life sciences in Vienna. The site with its state-of-the-art R&D and QC laboratories holds a GMP certificate from the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and was successfully licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for QC testing of Valneva`s marketed Japanese encephalitis vaccine.

      Responsibilities:

      • Development and validation of immunological assays
      • Supervision of GCLP-compliant immunogenicity testing for clinical trials (scientific, technical and organizational aspects)
      • Assay planning, analysis, review, as well as assay maintenance and trouble shooting
      • Writing technical protocols / reports (Assay development and validation, Analytical Plans and Reports) and other GxP documentation
      • Evaluation and presentation of data; write publications
      • Provide your expertise to other functions within the organisation. Represent the department in cross-functional project teams
      • Establish and maintain collaborations with external partners

      Requirements:

      • PhD (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
      • Solid expertise in the fields of Immunology, Virology and/or Microbiology
      • Hands-on experience on immunological/biological assays (e.g. ELISA, cell based assays)
      • Knowledge in development and validation of assays
      • Experience in supervision of technical assistants
      • Knowledge of Quality Systems (GxP) and relevant regulatory guidelines
      • Experience in (bio)pharmaceutical industry is a plus
      • Excellent analytical / problem solving skills
      • Strong organizational and communication skills
      • Fluent English / good presentation techniques
      • Able and used to work under time pressure on multiple projects in a changing environment
      • Willingness to work in a big multi-national team is essential

      We are legally obliged to indicate that according to the collective agreement the minimum monthly gross salary for this position (full time) is EUR 2807,89,--. As a corporate company we will pay a market oriented salary based on qualifications and experience. We also offer a wide range of other benefits.
