      Reporting to Compute Service Manager, the holder of his position will be in charge of designing, implementing and operating of centralized IT systems and infrastructure at Global Blue (GB). This includes business critical 24x7 production environment as well as the delivery of GB internally used Backoffice IT services. Focus of this position is to ensure function, quality and in time/budget delivery of assigned projects.

      Your Responsibilities

      • plan, design, document and operate:
      • Microsoft server oriented infrastructure and systems
      • virtualization environments
      • enterprise class storage systems
      • provisioning systems and client deployment environments
      • backup and restore infrastructure
      • operate, keep up to date (incl. patching) and monitor the corporate system environment
      • plan and perform changes and extensions on the system landscape
      • analyse change request impact and hand documentation over to IT change management
      • provide 2nd level support and general technical support for GBT Service Center
      • manage resolution process with 3rd level support and/or external vendors
      • support HA, DR and BC implementations with proper systems design
      • maintain, audit and improve corporate infrastructure standards
      • support the problem management process
      • perform root cause analysis and lead problem resolution
      • define, monitor and report KPIs for all centralized IT services
      • perform proof of concept and feasibility studies
      • investigate new technologies
      • creating design documentation, white papers and operating procedures
      • provide procedures, check lists and other documents for GBT Service Center and other stake holders (feed the solutions and known errors database)

      Education and experience

      • IT related education or equivalent working experience
      • Min. 3-5 years of working experience as an IT System Engineer in a medium to large scale environment (500+ servers, 1500+ devices) with engineering and/or operations responsibility
      • Excellent understanding of datacentre concepts, complex technical infrastructure with business critical high availability requirements
      • Programming/scripting skills - PowerShell
      • Good understanding of at least 4 technical areas below:

      • MS SQL server
      • Load Balancing Technologies
      • MS SCCM / MS SCOM
      • Virtualisation: VMware
      • Citrix XenApp
      • Storages
      • Backup and Restore methodologies
      • TCP/IP networking
      • IT security
      • ITSM tools

      • Experience in writing documentation
      • ITIL certification - nice to have
      • Linux knowledge - desirable
      • Fluent in English and German (both written and verbal)
      • Ability and willingness to work 24 hours on-call duty
