      Global Drug Development / Schaftenau

      Area of Responsibility

      • Accountable for leading biosimilar or new modalities drug product development project
      • Develop robust manufacturing processes, formulation characterization for the filling of syringes and vials
      • Characterize formulation and process; support process validation and registration activities
      • Design, planning, execution and interpretation of experiments of biologic pipeline products
      • Lead a cross-functional team across sites to ensure appropriate product development concerning all aspects of the drug product (formulation, primary packaging, manufacturing process)
      • Set priorities for the team; coach, mentor, and motivate sub-team members
      • Communicate overall project strategy, key issues, critical topics, adapt project strategy and prioritize activities
      • Produce pre-clinical trial supplies in our on-site pilot plant
      • Transfer manufacturing procedures to large-scale GMP facilities, support trouble-shooting, driving process risk assessments and attending production runs
      • Contribute to strategies for site selection and support resource allocation / outsourcing strategies
      • Represent the department in Due Diligence teams for biopharmaceutical projects or business opportunities
      • Support refinement of development concepts and scientific knowledge management


      Education: PhD in biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmacy (or a similar field) or Master with industry experience
      Languages: English (business fluent), German (basic knowledge)
      Experience: Broad scientific or technical knowledge in applied biotechnology, biochemistry or similar; good knowledge of relevant software tools, awareness of safety regulations, knowledge in project management, good skills in presentation and scientific/technical writing, preferred: in-depth insights in GMP regulations
