Senior Commercial Manager (m/f/x) in Nigeria (Africa)

In Nigeria, its core capabilities span the full project lifecycle--from planning and construction through to the operation and maintenance of assets--across the building, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Commercial Manager to be based in Nigeria.
Your Responsibilities
- Take ownership of commercial processes within the Plant & Equipment function (including accounts, contracts, documentation and internal coordination)
- Manage day-to-day commercial operations such as material control, customer invoicing, cost allocation, reporting and contract administration
- Assume leadership responsibility for the local commercial team
- Ensure efficient collaboration within the team and across interfaces such as Finance, Procurement, Operations and Project Management
- Lead and support quarterly and annual closing activities (financial statements, balance sheets and management reports)
- Monitor budgets, costs, forecasts and KPIs, identifying risks, deviations and optimization potential
- Prepare business analyses, cost calculations and decision-making documents
- Drive process improvements, strengthen commercial governance and contribute to the further development of reporting and controlling structures
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commercial Management or a related field
- Several years of relevant experience in commercial management, controlling, finance, contract administration or a comparable role
- Initial leadership experience or clear readiness to take the next step into a team leadership role
- Strong commercial expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, financial closing, reporting and business analysis
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, plant, equipment or project business is highly desirable
- Solid SAP knowledge and excellent MS Office skills
- Fluent English skills; additional languages are an advantage
- Leadership maturity, hands-on mentality and the ability to guide, support and motivate a team
- Entrepreneurial, structured and solution-oriented personality with strong communication skills and intercultural competence
- High resilience, flexibility and willingness to work in an international assignment setting in Nigeria
