Mechanical System Engineer (f/m/d)

At PALFINGER, the development of the loader crane product is future-oriented, aligned with changing challenges. In this position you will act globally with our Stiffboom Cranes and Service Cranes. Do you want to be part of our journey into the future?

We are looking for a Mechanical System Engineer (f/m/d) for the Location Köstendorf.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design of mechanical steel components from concept to virtual and physical prototypes

*

Integration of mechanical, hydraulic and electric modules or subsystems throughout the entire Product Development Process until serial production

*

Optimal design for the customer - Design to cost and Value Engineering and performing the interface to Product Management, Quality and Service

*

Optimal design for PALFINGER - Design for manufacturing and assembling and performing the interface to Cost Controlling, Procurement and Operations

*

Optimization of the overall system and individual components acc. different design criteria

*

Cooperation with Advanced Development Teams and Center of Excellences and further Product Line entities (e.g. Quality, Standards and Intellectual Property) to ensure product excellence

*

Validation of the design in physical prototypes and coordinating product verification with Prototyping and Testing

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

*

Technical education in the field of mechanical engineering or similar

*

Several years (min. 5) of professional experience in the field of mechanical engineering

*

Strong social and intercultural competence/communication and language skills

*

Analytical thinking and independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working

*

Fast information gathering and rapid learning of existing and new knowledge

*

Willingness to become a subject matter expert in developing Stiffboom cranes

*

Daily contribution to a continuous improvement (processes, global teamwork, lessons learned)

*

Team player who takes ownership and responsibility

*

Very good knowledge of German and English and readiness to travel
