SOFTWARE INTEGRATOR (F/M/X)

Thales in Austria is a full system provider and global supplier of train control technology and traffic management systems (f. ex. European Train Control System (ETCS), Electronic interlockings, Operation Control Centers and dispatching systems, Field elements).

The route control product development team focuses on generic middleware layer building blocks like run-time execution environment, redundancy management, communication protocol stacks, boot/download procedures and diagnosis which close the gap between operating system services and railway specific business logic.

As part of the route control product development team you are responsible for the integration of these components for new versions of the interlocking system product line and migrating these components to server based and embedded components.

YOUR CHALLENGE

* Product integration of generic SW components of the newest generations interlocking system on virtual server based and distributed HW components
* Set up the SW components and test if the components are functional and check run and reaction times
* Ensure the compatibility and interoperability of various software components
* Troubleshooting and optimization of software performance
* Checking different failure scenarios
* Documentation of changes, errors and the workflow of the integration process
* Working together with the development team to solve problems and find solutions

YOUR PROFILE

* Technical education (HTL, FH, Uni) in Computer Science, Informatics, Networking or similar
* 3 years of experience in software development / software integration
* You are familiar / experienced using the following processes and technologies: and perseverance
* Software / Hardware integration of complex systems
* Set-up of HW and SW components
* Experience with LINUX system administration
* Experience in IaaS Layer (OpenStack) and container technologies (Docker)
* Good knowledge in C (knowledge of Chill is beneficial)
* Knowledge on POSIX-API
* Knowledge on GNU Tool Chain and scripting: Bash, Perl, Python
* Knowledge on networking (IP, TCP, UDP)
* Setup and scripting of installation, up-/downgrade, maintenance and diagnosis
* Experience with state-of-the art CI/CD pipelines and principles
* Knowledge on distributed, fault tolerant and embedded system
* Good level of German and English

* The salary for this position ranges from EUR 58.000 to EUR 73.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification and can exceed the mentioned range.
