HEAD OF GLOBAL PURCHASING (M/W/D)

Location: EU-based, preferred Vienna, AT

We are seeking an exceptional and results-oriented Head of Global Purchasing to join our dynamic leadership team. Lead strategic procurement initiatives, drive efficiency, and ensure highest quality standards across our global supply chain. If you're a results-oriented leader with a passion for procurement and a track record of driving success, we want you to lead our team to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement global procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, and services required for glass production.
* Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals across multiple locations, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favourable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
* Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry dynamics to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process optimization.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, logistics, and quality assurance to align purchasing strategies with business objectives and production requirements.
* Drive initiatives to standardize purchasing processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology solutions to streamline procurement operations.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and company policies in all purchasing activities.
* Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure purchasing performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability.
* Lead supplier relationship initiatives, fostering strategic partnerships and driving supplier development activities to enhance supply chain resilience and innovation.

Skills & Experience:

* Master's degree in technical field (engineering, physics, mathematics, information technology). Further business studies preferred, e.g. MBA.
* Min ten years working experience in global procurement related position with team responsibility (preferably in automotive or mechanical engineering).
* Proven experience in managing budgets, executing strategic growth plans, and building high performing teams.
* Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of market trends, customer behaviour.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Excellent networking and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
* Experience in working in a global environment with a multicultural workforce.
* High willingness to travel.
