The ICAAP team within the Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM) division, ensures group-wide risk portfolio steering based on a holistic, cross-risk oversight of risks. We support the Erste Group's management with a robust enterprise-wide risk management framework to ensure that the bank group has the capacity to bear its acquired risks. We also ensure that new emerging risk types (such as ESG risks) are reflected in the overall risk framework.As a member of our team, you will play an important role in strengthening and further developing ICAAP products, specifically limit framework (concentration-related limits, strategic limits) and risk assessment based on, but exclusively, impact on Erste Group's capital adequacy.

Your Tasks

* Collaborate on refining the industry limit framework, integrating considerations for concentration risks to bolster risk management practices
* Support in developments of strategic limits at the group level, ensuring they are aligned with organizational objectives, and facilitate their cascading to local entities for cohesive risk management
* Assist in the ongoing monitoring of risk exposures vis-a-vis established limits, promptly identifying and escalating any breaches to relevant stakeholders for timely intervention and mitigation
* Support on developing comprehensive measures to assess risk exposure and risk materiality, leveraging insights to inform management decisions on appropriate risk mitigation strategies and actions
* Developing and utilizing methodologies for risk assessments based on scenario and sensitivities analysis
* Conduct thorough materiality assessments using a range of indicators, aligning them with Erste Group's capital adequacy requirements to ensure accurate risk quantification and management
* Exhibiting the ability to interpret and analyze results, translating outputs into actionable insights for enhancing risk management strategies
* Undertake various tasks related to the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), such as refining risk methodologies, enhancing risk reporting capabilities, and implementing regulatory requirements to strengthen the overall risk steering framework
* Overseeing the consistent application of ICAAP standards, methodologies, models, systems, and processes across the entire group, ensuring uniformity and compliance

Your Background

* University degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related area
* Strong quantitative and analytical mind, coupled with the ability to interpret from an economic perspective the output of risk models
* Good commands in programming languages for advanced data analytics and modeling (such as Python, R, SAS)
* Previous internship experience in ICAAP or risk management and knowledge of the relevant regulations
* Proven track record of effectively utilizing risk models and methodologies for assessing and managing risks would be considered as a plus
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Excellent German (first language is a plus) and English commands in written and verbal communication

* The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 43.554,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
